Residents and staff at Trinity Homes were tested for COVID-19 April 23 as part of Governor Burgum’s testing initiative. The goal was to test all residents and staff at the long-term care facility.

Testing supplies were provided by the State of North Dakota. Staff of Trinity Health and First District Health Unit (FDHU) collected the samples, and results were expected in 24-48 hours.

According to FDHU Executive Officer Lisa Clute, the testing is part of the Governor’s expanded testing plan, which includes healthcare workers, residents, and staff at long-term care facilities, and other vulnerable populations.

“Today’s testing is not a result of any known illness or exposure in the Trinity Health system,” said Clute. “When the opportunity arose for Trinity Homes to be a test site, they readily agreed and welcomed this measure to further increase safety and reduce risk of COVID-19 spread.”

No public testing was done at the event. Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 is encouraged to contact their medical provider to arrange testing, or call 701-857-5000.
