On April 30 it will be one year since Trinity Health, with the aid of area ambulance crews, transferred 59 patients from its legacy hospital to its new Healthcare Campus and Medical District (HCMD).
To celebrate the one-year anniversary, Trinity has planned several events and activities to thank its employees and the public and to introduce its new facility to people who have yet to experience it.
A focal point of the celebration will be a Community Ice Cream Social, set for Saturday, April 27. Ice cream treats will be served from 10 a.m. to noon in the atrium of the hospital’s main entrance. Guided tours highlighting key areas of the complex will also be provided. All are welcome.
Other festivities include a Business After Hours event, a birthday party honoring the first baby delivered at the new campus, recognition activities for staff, social media posts, and onesies for babies delivered in the Family Birth Center during the month-long celebration.
“We look forward to celebrating this milestone with the community,” said Trinity Health President and CEO John Kutch. “This past year has underscored the importance of community in helping us bring this beautiful Healthcare Campus and Medical District to life. We’re grateful for our donors, supporters, and our outstanding workforce for their hard work establishing Trinity Health as a world-class regional healthcare destination where excellence in healthcare can be sustained for generations to come.”
The opening of Trinity Health’s new campus ushered in a new era in healthcare for the region. Comprised of a state-of-the-art hospital and adjoining Medical Office Building, the new facility created an environment where advanced levels of care can be supported. Highlights include enhanced emergency services, an integrated procedural platform for surgical and interventional treatments, an entire floor dedicated to women’s and children’s services, private patient rooms and architectural elements that emphasize open spaces and windows that bathe visitors in warm, natural light.
Thousands have received care since the new campus opened, including 8,009 inpatients, 27,287 emergency room visitors and 7,561 operating room patients. More than 1,200 babies have been welcomed into the world in the hospital’s new Family Birth Center. All figures are as of March 31, 2024.
