This comprehensive program is designed to help people restore their independence and return to a more productive lifestyle following illness, injury, or surgery. Our team of specialized professionals provides a comprehensive range of services to assist each individual in obtaining the highest level of functioning possible. Services include Acute Care Therapy and our RehabCare Center Rehabilitation.
Acute Care Therapy
A staff of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, certified occupational therapy assistants, and speech-language pathologists work together to provide care to patients of all ages in Trinity Hospital. These patients may have had a recent surgery or could be recovering from a serious illness. Our therapy staff works in coordination with the other healthcare team members to provide quality care and to maximize the patient’s function and independence.
RehabCare Center Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation Medicine is a medical specialty that focuses on the evaluation and functional restoration of patients with disabilities or limitations in functional abilities. The Physical Therapy program helps patients reach their maximum level of independence within the limits of their disability and previous level of functioning. Trinity’s RehabCare program is built on a team approach that helps patients set realistic goals and earn a sense of confidence in their ability to manage their lives once they have left the RehabCare setting. We’re proud to be accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an independent, not-for-profit organization which evaluates rehab programs throughout the nation.
The emphasis of the program is to bring patients to their highest level of mobility. Programs are developed to improve strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance to enhance the patient’s mobility. Each patient receives an exercise program to perform at home to encourage progress after discharge. Therapeutic plans are developed by all of the rehabilitation disciplines to meet the functional, vocational, and psychological goals of each patient. These disciplines include:
- Rehabilitation Nursing Staff
- Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
- Psychiatric and Psychological Services
- Pastoral Care
- Medical Social Services
- Nutritional Services
