Precise Total Knee Replacement
Pairing Surgical Expertise with Robotic Technology
Trinity Health offers total knee replacement using the Zimmer Biomet ROSA® Knee System. ROSA, which stands for robotic surgical assistant, allows for a more precise total knee replacement tailored especially to the patient. This means the patient benefits from less discomfort and scarring and a faster recovery.
Our complete team of specialists offers the latest diagnosis and treatment options to reduce pain and improve healing. Our goal is to restore function and get patients back to living their life to its fullest as soon as possible.
ROSA helps the surgeon assess soft tissues and refine bone resections for positioning the knee implant during surgery. It uses data collected before and during surgery to provide details related to a patient’s unique anatomy. We use that data to provide a personalized surgical procedure and position the implant based on the patient’s individual needs.
The robot also uses a camera and optical trackers to know exactly where the knee is in space. If the leg moves even a fraction of an inch, the robot can tell and adjusts accordingly. This results in a more balanced, custom-fitting knee design that produces a better outcome for the patient.
