All classes are held at Trinity Health Riverside Education Center, 1900 8th Avenue SE, Minot.
Often companies require their employees to take these courses in order to gain certification or a course completion card for their employment*. First Response provides course content as specified by the American Heart Association (AHA), from entry level CPR and first-aid, to advanced healthcare provider courses. We also teach a variety of EMS classes designed for Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), as well as Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMT) and Paramedics.
*Certain Employees of Trinity Health may be eligible for free course work and can contact Trinity Health First Response EMS Education to inquire if they qualify.
TRINITY HEALTH EMT PROGRAM
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) play an important role in the medical and health care industry by providing lifesaving care to patients in challenging situations.
Trinity Health EMS Education department offers two EMT classes each year. Classes meet two evenings per week for six months. Upon completion of the program students will be prepared to complete the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) computer-based testing.

TRINITY HEALTH PARAMEDIC PROGRAM
Trinity Health Paramedic Program operates in conjunction with Dakota College at Bottineau. The CAAHEP accredited Paramedic Technology program prepares students for a rewarding opportunity in the growing field of emergency medical services. Paramedics provide complete and vital emergency services to a variety of patients. They are typically dispatched by 911 operators to the scene of an accident or other emergency in which immediate emergency medical services are required. They may also provide transportation from one medical facility to another. Graduates in this program may be employed with fire departments, public and private ambulance services, rescue squads, emergency medical services and hospitals.
Pre-requisites – Students must have successfully completed the EMT-Basic Certification prior to being admitted to the program. Upon completion of the program students will be required to complete the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) computer-based testing and practice examination to become certified as a paramedic.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS )
INITIAL CERTIFICATION
This class is for the first time student or for the student who has had their certification expire. You must attend both days of this class and be proficient in reading cardiac rhythms prior to attending. All classes are scheduled 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
RE-CERTIFICATION
This class is one day for the provider who needs to re-certify in ACLS.
AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED/FA
This class is for individuals who need or want to be trained in CPR/AED and/or First Aid. The class length is approximately 2.5 hours for First Aid and 2 hours for CPR/AED (adult, child and infant). If you only need CPR/AED class would begin at 6:00 p.m. First Aid only class start time is 8:15 p.m.
AHA Pediatric Heartsaver CPR/AED/FA
This class is for individuals who need or want to be trained in Heartsaver CPR/AED for adult, child and infant and Pediatric First Aid. Ideal for daycare providers. The class is approximately 4.5 – 5 hours in length and begins at 6:00 p.m.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
INITIAL CERTIFICATION
This class is for the first time student or for the student who has had their certification expire. You must attend both days of this class and be proficient in reading cardiac rhythms prior to attending. All classes are scheduled 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
RE-CERTIFICATION
This class is one day for the provider who needs to re-certify in PALS.
Basic Rhythm Class
This class teaches Basic rhythm recognition, which is highly recommended to take prior to the initial ACLS or PALS class. Classes are from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Books must be obtained to complete a Pre-Test for ACLS or PALS. You may purchase the book at the Riverside Education Center. Trinity Employees that are required to have these certifications as part of their job can check the books out from the education center. To register for these classes please call 701-858-6310.
Basic Life Support ( CPR ) Healthcare Provider
This class is for students who will be working in a healthcare field who have direct patient contact. (Approximate length of class is 3.5-4 hours). All classes start at 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Classes are offered twice monthly.
