Trinity Health has announced the addition of Nana Appiawiah, MD, to its medical staff. Dr. Appiawiah is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist, fellowship trained in neuroradiology, a subspecialty focused on abnormalities of the brain, head, neck and spine.
Dr. Appiawiah earned his medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, where he earned the MD Honor Graduate Award, Outstanding Achievement in the Clinical Sciences, and other honors. He did a transitional internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital, San Diego, before completing his four-year residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Colorado. His neuroradiology fellowship was accomplished at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
A member of the US Navy, Dr. Appiawiah served as a staff radiologist at Naval Hospital Twentynine Palms in California. He later joined the Naval Hospital in Rota, Spain, where he led the Radiology Department. He received the Navy Commendation Medal after fulfilling his military service.
