A member of our General Surgery team, Katie Minnis, AGACNP-BC, is a board-certified nurse practitioner trained to provide a wide range of services to patients undergoing surgical procedures. A native of Chico, CA, Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Minot State University before obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University, Addison, IL. Katie has previously worked as an anesthesia technician/CNA at Trinity Health Hospital and a CNA in the memory care unit at Trinity Homes. She also has nurse practitioner practicum experience at Trinity Health, where she worked in urgent care, the emergency room, inpatient hospital medicine, the intensive care unit and cardiothoracic surgery. In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with friends and family and doing outdoor activities such as camping and fishing.

Kevin Price, MD
A Trauma/Critical Care specialist who sees hospital-based patients, Kevin Price, MD, brings over a decade of experience to Trinity Health. Dr. Price earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Duke University, Durham, NC, before obtaining a Doctor of Medicine from Oregon Health Science University in Portland. In addition to his provider experience, Dr. Price spent 10 years in the military as a T-38A Instructor Pilot at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona and as an HH-60G Copilot, Aircraft Commander, Instructor Pilot and member of the 304th Rescue Squadron at Portland Air National Guard Base.
Dr. Price has family in the Williston area and looks forward to being closer to them. A native of Kittery, ME, he enjoys spending time with his kids and dog, scuba diving, surfing, and snow skiing in his free time. He is excited to pour his energy and new training into the Trauma/Critical Care teams at Trinity Health.
John Hong, MD
Trinity Health welcomes John Hong, MD, to our general surgery team. Dr. Hong received his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, NY, before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cincinnati (OH) College of Medicine. A native of Seoul, South Korea, he completed a general surgery residency at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and fellowships in surgical critical care and trauma at the University of Miami (FL)-Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has held many leadership roles, including Director of Surgical Education at St. Mary’s University Medical Center, MO, and Clinical Instructor of Surgery at Cornell University College of Medicine, NY, and University of Miami (FL) School of Medicine. A member of the Surgical Infection Society, Association for Surgical Education, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Hong enjoys reading, fishing, kayaking and playing squash in his free time.
Richard Ashu, FNP-BC
Richard Ashu, FNP-BC, is a board-certified nurse practitioner who has joined the Gastroenterology team at Trinity Health. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Concordia College in Moorhead and went on to complete a Master of Science in Family Nurse Practice at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Originally from Cameroon, Richard has gained valuable experience across several practices in North Dakota, including Fargo, Jamestown, Grand Forks and Wahpeton, before relocating to Minot. In his free time, he enjoys swimming and playing soccer.
Chad Geisinger, ACNPC-AG
Chad Geisinger, ACNPC-AG, is a board-certified adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner and a member of our Pulmonary/Critical Care team. A Bottineau native, he received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. He completed his Master of Science in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Herzing University. Chad previously held roles at Trinity Health as a flight paramedic and an RN/charge nurse in the intensive care unit before his current role as a nurse practitioner. Outside of work, he enjoys camping, fishing and spending time with family. Chad is looking forward to using his past experience and knowledge and implementing it into the care he is providing in his new role. He is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
Sean Russell, MD
Sean Russell, MD, a Minot native, brings specialized cardiac expertise to Trinity Health’s cardiology surgical team. Dr. Russell completed his undergraduate studies at Carroll College in Helena, MT, before earning his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. His surgical training includes both general and thoracic surgery residencies at the Baylor College of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas.
As an established cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon, Dr. Russell has practiced in Bismarck for over 25 years. A Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Dakota, he maintains active involvement in medical education while serving the region’s cardiac care needs. He holds dual board certifications from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. His professional affiliations include the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Society of Clinical Vascular Surgeons, and the Michael E. DeBakey Surgical Society.
Sorin V. Pusca, MD
Sorin V. Pusca, MD, brings extensive surgical expertise to the Trinity Health’s cardiology team. Dr. Pusca completed his residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2004 and advanced fellowships in cardiothoracic surgery at Emory University in 2006. He subsequently stayed on staff at Emory University as instructor and later as assistant professor. Prior to joining Trinity Health, Dr. Pusca was part of one of the busiest cardiothoracic surgery private practices in Texas.
He brings extensive experience in off pump coronary artery bypass, total arterial revascularization with bilateral internal mammary arteries, mitral valve repair with leaflet preservation, aortic valve replacement with root enlargement and aortic surgery. He has additional interests in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, video assisted lobectomy, thymectomy and decortication, as well as esophageal surgery.
Dr. Pusca maintains dual Board certifications from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
Peter Mikhail, MD, FRCS (C), FACS
Peter Mikhail, MD, FRCS (C), FACS, is a highly accomplished cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon with over 20 years of experience and a distinguished record of leadership, academic contributions, and clinical excellence. He joins Trinity Health’s cardiology team with exceptional credentials and a commitment to advancing patient care.
Dr. Mikhail earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada, followed by a cardiovascular and thoracic surgery residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, where he honed expertise in advanced and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Mikhail is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, reflecting his dedication to the highest standards of surgical excellence. His professional affiliations include the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, further underscoring his standing in the field.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mikhail has held pivotal leadership roles, including Section Chief of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at United Regional Health Care System. Since 2021, he has served as Section Chief and Chair of the Cancer Committee at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, where he was also a voting member of the Medical Executive Committee. He has concurrently practiced as a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon in New Port Richey, FL, since 2017.
Dr. Mikhail’s contributions to medicine extend beyond the operating room. He has participated in many clinical trials and authored contributions to medical literature. His career also features academic appointments as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Florida and the University of North Dakota, where he has mentored future physicians and surgeons.

A. Hadi Hakki, MD
A. Hadi Hakki, MD, joins Trinity Health’s cardiology team as a distinguished cardiovascular & thoracic surgeon, bringing decades of specialized expertise to Minot. His comprehensive training includes a general surgery residency at York Hospital in York, PA and a cardiothoracic surgery residency at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Hakki further enhanced his expertise through prestigious fellowships in cardiothoracic surgery at Brook General Hospital in London, UK, pediatric cardiac surgery at St. Christopher’s Hospital in Philadelphia, and hand & microsurgery at Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, MI.
With over three decades of experience, Dr. Hakki previously led a successful cardiovascular & cardiothoracic surgery practice in Florida since 1988. His leadership roles include Assistant Professor of Surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital, Director of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Carle BroMenn Hospital in Normal, IL, and Chief of Surgery at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL, where he also served on the Executive Committee. A Senior Member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Hakki maintains board certification from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and holds medical licenses in eight states. Dr. Hakki is the author of the book Ideal Cardiac Pacing, one of 13 books referenced by the Board of Electrophysiology and Pacemakers.
Alexis Harvey, MD
Trinity Health is pleased to welcome Alexis Harvey, MD, to our general surgery team. Dr. Harvey received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Texas at Austin before earning a Doctor of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon graduation, she completed a general surgery residency with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. A native of San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Harvey is excited to contribute to the overall health of the Minot community. A member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Association of Women Surgeons, she enjoys reading, gardening and birdwatching in her free time.
