The Trinity Health Center for Diabetes Education will host a free program, “Mindful Eating,” Tuesday, January 15, at 5:30 p.m. in the Trinity Health Community Conference Room at Town & Country Center, 1015 South Broadway.
Outpatient dietitian Michelle Fundingsland, RDN, LRD, will explain the concept of mindful eating as a technique that can help individuals gain control over their eating habits.
“Our lives are filled with so many distractions; oftentimes we’re not even aware of what we’re eating,” Fundingsland said. “By focusing attention on mealtime, we can slow down, be more intentional about our food choices, and actually enjoy the food we’re eating.”
The program is part of the center’s ongoing educational series, Keys to Diabetes Success. The focus of this year’s topics is a mindful approach to diabetes care. Reservations aren’t required but recommended by calling the Center for Diabetes Education at 857-5268.
