Trinity Health Foundation today received a major boost in its campaign to fund a new ambulance for Trinity Health First Response Ground. Hess Corporation announced it is donating $50,000 toward the purchase of the new emergency vehicle, bringing the Foundation closer to its goal.
“We’re immensely grateful to Hess Corporation for this generous gift,” said Dusty Zimmerman, Foundation Director. “This donation will enhance the capacity of our EMS providers to respond to medical emergencies and help create a more resilient EMS infrastructure for our whole community.”
The area’s only Advanced Life Support service, Trinity Health First Response Ground provides state-of-the-art pre-hospital care to residents in Minot and a 2,000-square-mile surrounding area, handling approximately 11,000 responses per year. “As our population and the demand for services has grown, it’s become necessary to increase our fleet size with an additional ambulance,” said Amy Thomas, director of Trinity Health First Response and Transport Services.
Brent Lohnes, Hess North Dakota General Manager, stated: “Supporting our first responders is a cornerstone of Hess’s commitment to the communities we serve. With this donation, we are not only addressing a need but are also investing in the safety and health of the broader Minot area and surrounding communities Trinity supports. Our goal is to ensure that the response is swift and comprehensive when emergencies arise, enhancing the security and well-being of all residents across this region.”
First Response Ground has set its sights on a fully equipped 2024 Crestline Type I 4×4 Ambulance with four-wheel drive capability, with a cost of nearly $260,000. Zimmerman said the Trinity Health Foundation will continue to accept donations as part of its Ambulance Match Fund.
