Trinity Health Foundation will host its 3rd annual Fuel the Fight cancer fundraiser September 11 at Dakota Square Arco.
The day-long event will feature a drawing for “Free Gas for a Year” ($50 in gas per week for 52 weeks) sponsored by First International Bank & Trust, various raffle prizes, a dunk tank, and specials on Coca-Cola products. To be eligible for the “free gas” drawing, customers must purchase eight or more gallons of gasoline and show their receipt at the counter.
People who purchase raffle tickets will be eligible for 14 different prizes, including 20 Walt Disney World Park Hopper Passes (valid through January 2022), a Camp Chef pellet smoker and Pit Boss portable outdoor griddle, both donated by Scheels; and a sound bar contributed by the Stereo Shop.
A percentage of purchases from the Dakota Square Arco, including fuel and merchandise, will also be donated to the cause.
Proceeds from the event will be used to provide prepaid gas vouchers to assist cancer patients with transportation costs to and from their oncology treatments.
“Considering our large rural service area, it is not uncommon for patients to travel more than 100 miles roundtrip for their cancer treatments,” said Al Evon, Director of Trinity Health Foundation. “Thanks to people supporting our initiatives we were able to provide more than $22,000 in fuel vouchers for patients last year.”
Fuel the Fight was first held in October 2018, and each year, more than $20,000 has been raised at each event.
