Jeffrey Sather, MD, MBA, FACEP, physician director of the Trinity Health Emergency/Trauma Center, was among the presenters at the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Scientific Sessions held November 4-6 in Chicago.
The board-certified emergency physician who also serves as an AHA Midwest Region board member led a session on the challenges rural communities and health systems face as they try to improve outcomes for patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, and stroke.
Dr. Sather introduced AHA’s Rural Health Care Outcomes Accelerator, which is a three-year initiative aimed at eliminating rural health disparities by helping hospitals and clinicians overcome barriers to providing high-quality evidence-based care.
Scientific Sessions is an annual event and one of the country’s premier scientific meetings, with over 10,000 clinicians and researchers in attendance. Sessions at this year’s conference focused on the latest research and insights to improve cardiovascular health.
