Trinity Health Expands Cardiology Team with Addition of Four Distinguished Heart Surgeons

Trinity Health is excited to announce the addition of four board-certified cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons to our expanded cardiology team. The unique perspective and skills that each member brings to our organization expands and elevates our cardiology team and the services that can be offered locally.

Trinity Health is pleased to welcome the following heart surgeons to our expanded cardiology team:

Peter Mikhail, MD, FRCS(C), FACS, a highly accomplished cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon, brings more than two decades of experience to Trinity Health. Dr. Mikhail has held several leadership positions, including Chair of the Cancer Committee at CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck. Dr. Mikhail is a contributor to clinical trials, medical literature and has held academic appointments at the University of Florida and the University of North Dakota.

Hadi Hakki, MD, a distinguished cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon brings over 30 years of experience and specialized training from institutions in the United States and United Kingdom. Dr. Hakki is a Senior Member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery and author of “Ideal Cardiac Pacing,” which is referenced for the Board of Electrophysiology and Pacemakers.

Sean Russell, MD, a Minot native and established cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon, has over 25 years of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery practice experience in Bismarck, and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Dakota. Dr. Russell is affiliated with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Society of Clinical Vascular Surgeons and the Michael E. DeBakey Surgical Society.

Sorin V. Pusca, MD, brings extensive cardiothoracic and vascular surgery expertise to Trinity Health. Before joining the cardiology team, Dr. Pusca provided care at one of the busiest cardiothoracic surgery private practices in Texas. He holds dual board certifications from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
