(MINOT, ND) – Trinity Health’s Nutrition Services Department will offer a class, ‘Cooking 101,’ Tuesday, September 12, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Trinity Health Community Conference Room at Town & Country Center.
Registered dietitian Kayla Cole, LRD, will present the fundamentals of good cookery and share advice to help even the most novice cooks learn their way around a kitchen. ‘Cooking is easier than you think,’ Cole said. ‘A few basic techniques and simple ingredients can get anyone started. There will be no stupid questions in this Cooking 101 Class.’
It’s long been understood by dietitians and food scientists that learning to cook is an important tool for a healthy lifestyle because it makes people more aware of what and how they are eating.
Space for the class is limited. Participants may RSVP by calling 857-5268. A $10 fee is required to cover recipes and food samples. The cooking class is part of a year-long series of events by the Nutrition Services Department to promote healthier eating in 2017.
