(WILLISTON, ND) – Surgical activities at Trinity Regional Eyecare ñ Western Dakota just got a boost, thanks to North Dakota’s leading provider of agricultural loans and insurance products.

Farm Credit Services of North Dakota, through its Rural Community Grant Fund, recently awarded $11,000 to Trinity Health Foundation for the purchase of two surgical eye carts for the clinic’s Ambulatory Surgery Center.

The carts will be unveiled at a presentation tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. (Friday, February 10) at Trinity Community Clinic ñ Western Dakota.

Eye carts are surgical stretchers with special head rests that provide maximum comfort for the patient and optimal accessibility for the ophthalmologist to support delicate procedures such as cataract surgery. ‘These new surgical carts will assist our providers in offering patients the best possible care,’ said Carlee N. Doucette, Nurse Manager for the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). ‘The ASC is very appreciative of the purchase of the additional surgical cart. We’re now able to increase our patient volume and procedure efficiency on a daily basis.’

Located within Trinity Community Clinic Western Dakota, TRE conducts more than 650 surgical procedures on average each year, Doubette noted.

The Rural Community Grant fund was established by AgriBank and its North Dakota Farm Credit partners to support communities impacted by mineral development in the Bakken region.

‘We are grateful that through the Rural Community Grant Fund, AgriBank, Farm Credit Services of Mandan and Farm Credit Services of North Dakota, are supporting the Trinity Health Foundation in its mission to assist Trinity Health in creating a system of care with the most significant impact on health and wellness throughout the region,’ said Trinity Health Foundation Director Al Evon.
