When kids need a hospital stay, you can count on Trinity Health’s pediatric experts to deliver high-quality medical care in a child-friendly environment. Our team uses a family-centered approach that encourages participation from the patient and parent/guardian. When everyone works together, children feel calmer, more in control, and experience better outcomes.
Why Choose Trinity Health for Inpatient Pediatric Services?
The team at Trinity Health prioritizes family-centered care for our pediatric patients and recognizes that each family unit looks different. We encourage the child to tell us who they consider “family” and together, the patient, family, and healthcare providers determine how they will participate in care and decision-making. This approach encourages communication and collaboration and leads to a better patient experience.
About the Pediatric Unit
The inpatient pediatric unit has 10 private rooms featuring child-friendly design elements. Parents and guardians have space to stay with their child without interfering in medical care. This includes spending the night in the child’s room. Families also have access to a large play therapy room and visitor’s lounge.
The hospital generally provides diapers, pull-ups, wipes, regular bottles, sippy cups, common Similac formulas, high-chairs, and play mats. If your child needs specialty feeding or medical items, bring those with you. Also consider packing blankets, stuffed animals, favorite snacks, or other items that bring your child comfort.
Visitation Guidelines
Two individuals can be at the bedside at one time and up to five people are allowed on a patient visitor list. This list must remain the same for the patient’s entire stay. Siblings aged 12 and older may visit if accompanied by a parent. Siblings younger than 12 years old cannot visit. Please ask the nursing staff about any exceptions.
Additional PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including masks, may be required depending on patient situations.
No one showing signs or symptoms of illness is allowed to visit.
Communication with Your Pediatrician/PCP
During a hospital stay, your child receives care from our inpatient pediatricians and staff members. You can ask us to send information about the visit directly to your child’s primary care provider. Any details related to treatment and follow-up will be placed in the patient’s medical record and available to other providers as appropriate and with your permission.
