Trinity Health is partnering with Minot Area Team Wellness to host a class on square foot gardening. The program will be held Monday, May 15, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Trinity Health Community Conference Room at Town & Country Center.
NDSU Extension Agent Emily How will demonstrate techniques for creating and caring for a square foot garden, which is a space-efficient way to grow vegetables and other plants within a limited area.
Dietitians from the Trinity Health Diabetes Education and Nutrition Services departments will also be on hand, offering information on the nutritional value and proper care of fresh vegetables.
“Square foot gardens let you enjoy fresh vegetables right from your own backyard, with less space, less work and more produce than a traditional row garden,” said clinical dietitian Michelle Fundingsland RDN, LRD. “They’re perfect gardens for those who live in town and have a small yard or for those who don’t have the time to plant a big row garden.”
The class is free, but space is limited. Registration is required by calling 701-857-5268.
