A Minot native, Dr. Schmidt worked as a medical technologist in North Dakota, Minnesota and Georgia before earning his medical degree from UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks. While in medical school he gained research experience in the areas of osteoporosis and pneumonia. He completed his Family Medicine residency at UND’s Center for Family Medicine in Minot and performed locum work at several community hospitals in the area before joining Trinity Medical Group’s hospitalist program. He is certified in cardiac, trauma, neonatal and pediatric life support.
