Radiologic technologists or radiographers use their knowledge of physics and human anatomy to create permanent medical images to diagnose disease. The registered radiologic technologist is qualified to provide patient services using various types of imaging equipment. The radiologic technologist works under the direction of a radiologist, a medical physician with extensive training in performing radiologic procedures and interpreting medical images. This is a profession which requires a dependable personality, a mature and caring nature, and an ability to exercise independent judgment.
