Welcome to Trinity Orthopedic Center of Excellence
Conditions Involving Ligaments, Tendons and MusclesCommon symptoms of joint, tendon, and muscle problems include inflammation, pain, weakness, stiffness, joint noises, and decreased range of motion. Inflammation can result from many conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders, autoimmune disorders, obesity, and infections. When inflammation occurs in a joint, fluid may accumulate inside the joint, causing swelling and decreased range of motion. A few of the conditions associated include: Bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, muscular dystrophy, and tendonitis.
Trinity Health Orthopedic specialists can often diagnose a joint, tendon, and muscle disorder based on the symptoms as well as the results from a physical examination. Laboratory tests, imaging tests, or other diagnostic procedures are sometimes necessary to help the clinician make or confirm a diagnosis.
Joint, tendon, and muscle problems are often managed with medications that reduce pain and inflammation. Treatment depends on the cause of the problem. In severe cases, surgery may be necessary to repair damage.
