Welcome to Trinity Orthopedic Center of Excellence
Joint Replacement SurgeryArthritis and other diseases, injuries, or other causes can damage joints. A joint is where two or more bones come together, like the knee, hip, and shoulder. Arthritis, or simply years of use, may cause the joint to wear away. This can cause pain, stiffness, and swelling.
The doctor may suggest a joint replacement to improve how you live. Replacing a joint can relieve pain and help you move and feel better. Joint replacement surgery is removing a damaged joint and putting in a new one. Sometimes, the surgeon will not remove the whole joint, but will only replace or fix the damaged parts. Each joint replacement surgery is different. How long it takes depends on how badly the joint is damaged and how the surgery is done.
With knee or hip surgery, you will probably need to stay in the hospital for a few days following surgery. As one of the region’s largest and most experienced joint replacement centers, Trinity Hospital’s Joint Replacement Center offers a dedicated wing exclusive to patients recovering from joint replacement surgery. Here, our staff of doctors, nurses, hospitalists, and therapists is available to assist patients in their recovery.
