1922
Trinity Health founded.
1949
Trinity launched a $500,000 building campaign to construct a six-story addition on the east side of Trinity Hospital. A six-story addition was erected at Northwest Clinic.
1964
Trinity Health becomes first hospital between Minneapolis and Spokane to offer open heart surgery.
1968
Trinity constructs nation’s first hospital-based heliport and launches one of the first helicopter ambulance services.
1971
Lutheran Home/Trinity Health merge, forming largest healthcare system in 29-state area.
1972
Area’s first joint replacement surgery performed.
1975
Region’s first Newborn Intensive Care Unit opens.
1977
Region’s first kidney dialysis center launched.
1986
Area’s first angioplasty performed.
1991
Region’s first laparoscopic gallbladder conducted.
1992
Trinity Health creates NorthStar Criticair to provide critical care transport for seriously ill and injured patients.
1995
Trinity Health verified a Level II Trauma Center.
1999
CancerCare Center opens, offering radiation and medical oncology.
2001
Historic transaction unites staff, services, and facilities of Trinity Health and UniMed Medical Center.
2006
Trinity Health deploys state’s first fully-integrated electronic health record. First in ND to offer digital mammography
2009
Trinity Health purchases 50 acres in southwest Minot as potential site for a new healthcare campus.
2010
First health system in state to acquire da Vinci Si robotic surgery system. Center for Diabetes Education opens.
2015
First in region to offer 3-D mammography.
2016
Proposal for new healthcare campus gets green light from Minot Planning Commission.
2017
Trinity Health receives authority from Ward County Board of Commissioners to issue up to $63 million in Health Care Revenue Bonds for new hospital and medical district. Bond sale to raise proceeds for the new healthcare campus ends in unqualified success.
2018
With building activity underway, Trinity Health invites community to “Breaking More Ground” event to celebrate construction of new regional healthcare campus and medical district.
2021
Region’s first total knee performed using ROSA® Knee robotic technology.
